Discovering individual qualities helps students, families and schools make the most of the educational experience.
Evaluating the educational and emotional needs of children and youth requires a number of different strategies. The process begins with parent and teacher interviews and questionnaires and can be followed by classroom observations. Testing may include intellectual functioning, academic achievement, attention, emotional well-being, and social skills, among others. Test results are discussed with parents, as well as suggestions to help maximize the student's potential. Following the conference, a comprehensive written report is provided that includes background information, test results, and recommendations. Ongoing psychological consultations can be provided to the family on a fee basis.
