Every student has strengths and weaknesses when it comes to learning and communicating.
Assessments of speech-language disorders vary by the age and needs of the child, but generally include standardized testing, background information from parents, and observations by the speech pathologist.
Evaluations measure articulation, receptive and expressive language skills, voice, fluency and pragmatic skills. Following evaluation, parents meet with the speech pathologist for a verbal summary of the results and recommendations, followed by a written report.
