| The Parent Council is dedicated to supporting Oak Hill Academy and its exceptional educational programs. We strive to enhance the experience with additional activities that build camaraderie among its faculty, students and families. Parents are encouraged to complete a Volunteer Form and return to the school office. PARENT VOLUNTEER FORM 2008 Share your time and talent in any of the following volunteer opportunities! Cafeteria Volunteers – Assist in serving Hot Lunch in the cafeteria during lunchtime. Volunteer commitment can be once a month or more. Each shift is from 10:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. We need help Monday – Friday. Teacher Workroom Volunteer - Get to know other parents while you work together in the teacher’s lounge copying, binding, laminating, and cutting materials for the teachers. One hour shifts are on Tuesdays and Fridays. Library Volunteer – Help re-shelve books in our library. Weekly help needed. Back to School Picnic Committee - Help implement a fun evening to welcome our new families and returning families back to school. Dad’s Club Volunteer – We need Dads to assist with pre-organized events and father/child activities throughout the year as well as to assist with various chores or projects around the school. Home Room Dad - We need one dad, per grade, to represent that grade in getting that Core’s dads involved in our Dad’s Club. Spring Carnival Committee -Work on a committee to plan our annual family Carnival in April. Book Fair Volunteers - Assist in set up and take down or work a shift during the Fall and /or Spring Book Fair. Sunshine Committee - Be willing to cook or provide a meal for an Oak Hill family in need if a need arises. Room Mom – Work with your child’s teacher on field trip and party planning as well as be a resource for any needs the teacher has. Communicate news and updates to your class parents on a regular basis. Fluency Reading Volunteer – Work a one hour shift on a designated day in a classroom assisting students with the Fluency Reading program. Buddy Family Volunteer – Become a buddy family to a new family as they join our Oak Hill family. Contact the family to introduce yourself and reach out to them during the first few months of starting at Oak Hill to make them feel welcome. Spirit Store Volunteer – Work a 30 minute shift in the Spirit Store |
